matt, I have been looking and pondering #00-28....Can you give me some ideas of the tonal variance that comes from that bass? I really like the shape and the purple heart fingerboard...

    Thanks,

    Jaymi

#028 is currently on "on hold, check in the mail" status.

The MME pickup is one of my favorites. There is really a big difference between the north coil, the south coil, and dual coil sounds. Especially if you move your right hand to play up the different sounds. It does go from that tight, growly bridge pickup sound, to boomy bridge pickup sound, and the parallel coil gives a good, defined blend of those two sounds.

    hee hee

i'm still digging the fbb's. i love the jive body shape. i'm considering getting a pair of basses built in the future, identical, with the exception of one being a fretted and one a fretless (like my pair of ibani). fbb is one of the luthiers i'm considering. matt really seems to do some awesome work.

well, I think Matt knows how I feel... (kinda mushy in some spots and a little clammy)

call me obsessive, but I'm shooting for the position of unpaid/unwanted endorser. I loves me some FBB's!

Trying to gradually replace my arsenal w/ a bunch of 'em. They are slowly metamorphosing; my Conklin turned into a FBB fretted 4, my Alembic is in the pupal stage of becoming an 8 string FBB.
Wonder which one will go next?
