So I am in the late stages of building a house and looking at paring down the collection some. Aside from any $$$, it's a shame that some of these amazing instruments are not getting played. I'll be posting a few instruments over the next few days. First up is an F Bass BN5 in piano black with a maple board - the classic black and maple. 8.5 lbs on the bathroom scale. F Bass active preamp, stacked hum cancelling pickups with single coil split option, killer sound and playability. It's on the block because I am playing wider necked 5 strings and haven't touched this since I got my Fodera - and it's a shame this this isn't getting played. Capable of being Full, thick, aggressive when it needs to be or subtle and mellow. Overall in good condition - a few dings and scratches, the worst of which is in the pics. Nothing that affects playability. Bass was made in 97, so it's in good shape for a 20 year old bass, but it is still a 20 year old bass. A little pickup paint wear, which is typical for F Basses. I have had it for about 10 years or so. Asking $2800 plus shipping. Local pickup in New Orleans is fine. As for trades, I am only interested in vintage Jazz basses, Fender Custom Shop Jazz basses, MIA G&L Basses, and Sadowsky basses, especially 5 strings with maple necks and wide boards. +- Cash as needed.
No sticker on the headstock but I pulled the back cover (sticker was in the control cavity)- bass was made in 1997. Edited above.
Still available had two buyers back out (one buyer backed out twice)!! Awesome bass, the neck is just too narrow for me.
Well, for those who have always wanted an f-bass, this is a crazy good deal. This should be gone already. Somebody take the leap!
