    This is a feeler thread...

For sale or trade is a custom 6-string Linc Luthier bass. It was my first major custom build (I didn't think a Carvin I had before it would count as custom), so it has sentimental value, hence the feeler thread.

    Here are the specs:

    Figured (Quilted/Curly) Maple top
    Bubinga back
    3-piece Purpleheart/Zebrawood/Purpleheart neck
Macassar Ebony fingerboard with custom large wooden dot inlays
1" Padouk stripes flanking neck (visible on top only)
    Wide string spacing (19mm)
    Black Hardware
    Hipshot A-style brass bridge
    Schaller tuners
    Pink Ivory nut
Custom Lane Poor pickups--wide aperature neck and humbucker bridge
    Bartolini TC5 preamp (boost only)
    Volume/Blend/Tone controls
High-gloss polyester finish with satin neck and fingerboard
Original custom hard shell case included

The highly sought after Lane Poor pickups are not for sale out of the bass, they go together. However, since the pickups could go for about $500 on their own, the value of the bass is a little higher. If someone were to buy this bass and sell the pickups, they could stand to make some money, but I'm not going to separate them.

Trades for high-end 5- or 6-string basses will be considered. However, I prefer 34" scales and ebony fingerboards.

Here are some pics, I can take more if necessary.

Sorry bro, not good with recording clips. If it's a must for a sale, I'll try to devise a way....

  7. Can I offer you a very nice - slightly used kidney? :D

    Stunning pair of basses!

Best of Luck with the sale - if I had the clams - I'd take em both.

Very rare instrument...I've found only a few references about it on the Net. Having at least a description of the tonal pallette would help me evaluate the opportunity of a trade...:eyebrow:

i had a linc with barts...totally passive. just a volume and a blend knob. the bass was incredible. there wasn't a way to make it sound bad and feel of the neck on a linc is small and fast (v-shaped). semi-hollow...dang fine basses.

Nice!! I got to (briefly) check out a couple Linc Luthier 4 strings a few years ago---they were owned by Stephen Pearcy's bass player (forget his name now). He was very cool about letting me check them out when we opened for them.

Both were absolutely wonderful playing basses. And they sounded great through the SVT rig that was the backline that night.

I'm sure this one is gonna make someone very happy.:)

EDIT: I think his name is Troy something-or-other??

That's him--Troy Johnson apparently endorses Linc Luthier basses, judging from the literature I've received from Linc.

Scotty, what's up! I didn't know you moved to Nashville and got famous (just saw your MySpace). So did you get the gig before or after you moved there? BTW, if you get the chance to go see the Gabe Dixon Band, they are my buds from college (Gabe played on my recital). They are one of the best bands in Nashville, or anywhere for that matter! (You're making me want to move now.)

Famous! Ha! Working though so that's a blessing! If you get up this way hit me up! Good luck letting that bass go!

Not sure I really want to....but if the right offer comes along. To be honest, I'd really like to get a Sukop.

Bump. I might keep it...but trades or outright sale is considered.

Trades for high end 5 or 6 strings, preferably a Sukop.
