    SOLD!

Dead mint, except for a little bit of very minor typical superficial surface stuff from fingers, can't even capture on camera it's so fine. Rarely gigged, kept in smoke free environment. This is as close to new condition as any used bass could be outside of turning something around as soon as you got it.

Lakland OHSC, got it new with the bass, but have never used it, so absolutely NEW condition.

Hand picked by The Groove Shoppe, and I do think that made a difference. This thing's tone is HUGE, and the bite out of that MM pickup allows you to play on stage at lower volumes and slice through ANYTHING easily. Currently strung with MTD 135x stainless strings, taper'd B, awesome action thanks to the Chicago shop's finishing work. Full USA Bart electronics and graphite re-enforcement bars standard on these jewels just exactly like the full USA 55-94 models.

    Check it out:

I figure replacement cost for me at current cash pricing today with shipping and the case would be about 1500, but I'd like to see around 1000 "obro" for it. Anyone interested?

EDIT: Someone asked about the weight. Looks like about 10 pounds... same as my Geddy J.

Hey, I should clarify one thing, I'm really not interested in any trades. I love this bass, and will only part with it for cash to support the new project. Otherwise, I'll just keep it.

In other words, the point is not that I want to exchange this bass for something different, it's that I need cash. To be honest, I never even thought I'd be doing this.

    Thanks for lookin'.

I'll weigh it tonight and put it in the main post. This is bass has an Ash body, which is part of where it's tone comes from. It's not the heaviest bass I've held, but again, I wouldn't call it light either.

With a comfort strapp, neotech strap, or moody, however, the thing balances so well you won't notice. I'm not a big person (5'9") and I don't have any problems with it.

There's a feature these have, which is not widely talked about, but I find VERY nice. Inside the control cavity there's a two position mini (dip) switch that allows you to select 250, 500, 700, or 850 as the mid knob's boot/cut point. Default is 500, but I currently have it set at 850, which I like a lot better. This is a very cool feature.

The volume knob is a push-pull active/passive control, but in passive mode, the gain goes way down. However, not enough to underdrive any decent amp's pre-gain section, and you still have volume, pan, and the switch (MM coil splitter) control, so still lots of sounds.

These things are loaded with features.

Oh, and one more thing, for those that don't know, these are "wide" 19mm spaced at the bridge, and with all that space between the J pickup and the neck, they're a slapper's dream (with a tone to match). They also narrow down quite a bit as you get towards the nut, so they don't play like a wide bass, which is great for folks with smaller hands like myself.

Are you sure? I checked with them before posting and they show their sale prices as 1230 withOUT a case or shipping. However, I am considering your offer seriously.

Very Sure... But I've bought ALOT of stuff from Beav over the years and don't even want to think about how much money I've spent with him =) Regardless, $900 should be pretty reasonable for a nice used one. Let me know, I can do Paypal if you like.

Are those photos when it was new or did you do them up special for the post? I was looking for Cherryburst but I kinda like the tobacco...

  13. About the gain going way down, there is a small dial in there, that brings down the volume of the active setting, making the active/passive settings almost the same volume.

Just thought Id add that in.

And by the way, if this bass had a rosewood fretboard, it would have been gone this afternoon when it came up on here. Great price on this thing, someone needs to buy it.

Yeah, but then the problem is, it's way softer than the rest of your basses. I almost always take a pair of basses to a gig, and I don't like to have to make such large changes from bass to bass.

Yeah, I REALLY hated to sell it, will surely miss it, but at least in this case, the end will justify the means. :)
