    FOR SALE

Not so sure I want to do this, but I'm looking at maybe buying a Thunderbass, so the wife says buy one, then I must sell one...

The bass is closer to teal in color (actually the pic looks pretty much dead on - when I purchased it from Guitar Center, the pics they sent me made the bass look blue in color).

As for the condition (I'm at work right now and working off of my fading memory), there are some scratches on it (I'll get pics later on) and there is a small spot on the fingerboard were the clear coat on the bird's-eye maple is worn (about the size of a finger pad, probably smaller).

This is not the 2000 series (not a AA or AAA flame maple top), however there is definitely flamming in the maple body (all the way from front to back)

I also purchased a case (a Pedulla Rapture case - the real deal).

I have $1,400 into it, so I'd like to get $1,300

This is the only pic I have here at work - its the teal Rapture (P/J pickups), second on the left (between the black Rapture and the red Thunderbolt).

[DEL]Again, this is just a feeler[/DEL] - its for sale :crying:
    Thanks,
    Jon

is the P/J stock? i didn't know they ever made the rapture in that config. Killer setup though. Hmmmm......where can I turn up some fundage. I had Rapture J2 way back and it was KILLER! I can imagine how great this one must be.

Bone stock, and yes that pickup config is very nice, which is why I'm on the fence about this one. I've done some recording with this bass, and use it 90% with just the P pickup and the bass & treb on the preamp are kept flat. Since I've never owned a Fender P bass I can't do a tight comparision, but I can tell you that sound from this bass has a nice thick low mid, with some grind on top, and for those of you who have played Pedulla's, especially the Raptures (J/J & P/J), the more you dig in on the strings, the more the bass snarls :bassist:

I have a tendency to either change a preamp or pickups on a lot of my basses (hey, its the eternal quest for tone), but this is one bass where as soon as the thought crossed my mind (I was thinking Nordy), I just plug it in and play, and the GAS goes away... so why would I sell this one? I have a very soft spot for a Thunderbass - since I sold my Zebra top Tbass (paying off a huge vet bill), I've been missing it, and probably the same thing will happen if I sell this one (thus the feeler thread)

Yep 34". B-string is not flabby (again, like other Pedulla's I have played, the B string sounds and feels great). The only other 5-string that I've played that had a slightly, and I do mean only slightly, better B is my Spector Euro (I imagine that is probably because of the 35" scale).
    Thanks!

Lots of PMs... all answered. I'm probably going to sell this, just really struggling to let it go (I really the tone and playability, and they're not very common, so I know as soon as I sell it, I'll regret and won't be able to find another).
I'll update the status on this tomorrow... as for trades, the only thing on my GAS list is a Pedulla Thunderbass (quilt or flame top) 5-string +/- $$ depending on the condition of the bass, but feel free to send me any other trades (5-string only though).

I'll try to get some sound files posted - any recommendations as to what site/service to use?

    thanks!

Just to give you an idea of how it sounds (in a mix - metal content; not rip your head off and shove it down the stump that was once your neck kind of metal)... not a very good job on my end with the mixdown (and some very sloppy guitar work by yours truly), but you'll get the idea.

    thanks

I don't think you should let go of this for a Thunderbass. It won't cut in the mix as well.

Further, there's a coco bolo thunder bolt in your OP. I think you should sell that one if you want a Thunderbass. Then you'll have more variety--the spice of life!

The Cocobola had been sold a little while back - very sweet bass - I was too afraid I would mess up such a beaut!

to me Pedulla is the clear cut winner in the most underrated category. It never ceases to blow my mind to see these go at such prices while more hyped basses go for sometimes 2 or 3 times this much and are not only not better, they may not be as good as the Pedullas.
