Femmes Bassist Sues Bandmate

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by scottice, Aug 17, 2007.

  1. Violent Femmes bassist Brian Ritchie filed a lawsuit Wednesday against frontman Gordon Gano in U.S. District Court in New York. The suit alleges Gano denied Ritchie proper credit for writing some Femmes tunes and tarnished the band's image by allowing the use of its hit "Blister in the Sun" in a recent Wendy's commercial. Gano calls the action "a complete surprise," and insists he wrote all but one or two of the group's songs.

This plain sucks. I love this band. I know Brian is a TB'er and enjoy it when he posts. I hate when this crap happens because I'll probably never get to see them together again live. What a shame. :scowl:

Occasionally posts mainly in threads about ABG's.

  4. So this means the Femmes are gone daddy gone.

Couldn't resist. Anyway, all you have to do is listen to Gano's lame guitar work, and how much of the song movement comes from Ritchie to know he has a valid point, and probably a strong case.
