am thinking to get one of this basses and been serching for info on both in the past few days.
i compared them today at musiciansfriends:
    62' body:alder 64:select alder
neck:maple c nitrocelluose neck:round laminate rose wood? i am not sure what that is.

    same fingerboard
    fretts are the same
    same pickups
    same bridge
    same machine head
    scale lenght same
    width same

so what is the $2000 different?what am i missing?

The 62 RI is a standard production bass. The 64 relic is a custom shop bass. BTW..the 62 RI's SMOKE. Great basses.
