For sale is my 1989 Fender Fiesta Red Jazz Bass. Plays great with low action. Ill get a weight asap, but it feels pretty light compared to most jazz basses. Rare factory Fiesta Red over black. A few chips and checks but overall in great shape for a 29 year old bass. The bass doesnt have the holes drilled in for the pup covers. No covers, candy or case; they weren't with the bass when I purchased it.

    1175 shipped CONUS Firm.

Would be interested in ricks or other fender reissues for trades. Sorry not that into other brands.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks

Nice “ honest” photos....when did the Fender Jazz go to v/v/t?....I thought it was IN ‘62

I believe the jazz did switch to VVT in 62, the fender reissues were inaccurate on a couple details.

My understanding is that '62 was a transition year.

    Nice!

    Question regarding the neck:

The photos make it look like the neck finish is pretty clear. However, TMK, up until the 2013–2017 AVRIs, Fender used heavily tinted lacquer on AVRI necks. E.g., my '84 AVRI Strat's neck looks like it's been floating in a barrel of orange piss for 30 years. Is your "clear" neck just inaccurate color in the pix, or does it actually have an abnormally clear finish?

Also, I'm curious if those are reverse-geared tuners. I've never owned an early AVRI bass, so I'm unsure about that.

Here is a pick from another 89' AVRI 62'...FWIW it doesn't have an "orange piss" appearance either.

Neck is darker in person than in the pics but not that bright tinted Amber color. Scales sells 9lbs but it rounds to the nearest lb or half lb.

Good luck with your sale, but for the love of god please do something about those saddles! That’s a beautiful bass that checks all the mojo marks. If I could, I would! Good luck!

    Great bass.

Are the pictures in the original post older? There is a clear picture of the neck plate in your first post and there is no chip. It actually looks like the chip paint was touched up (?)

Sorry about the confusion. Here is a current pic of the neck plate area. There was a small chip that happened after I posted the original pics.
    5308.
There's a small chip by the bridge pick up that was glued back in. I don't believe there's any other touch ups besides that one.

    5309.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
