Fender Aerodyne Bass discontinued?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by chronicfreeze, Mar 3, 2006.

  1. I've been procrastinating over the past year on this bass. Fender.com now longer shows the picture on their website and several other retailers state that the unit has been discontinued. If this is case I need to get off my lazy ass and order one. :hyper:
  2. I don't know if its been discontinued or not...my mate bought one a couple months ago...
  3. Freeze -

If in fact that's the case, there is a dealer in my area who has one that I'm sure he'd be happy to sell you. If you're interested, send me a PM.
  4. there one in the guitar center by my house as well. i dont know if they have more then one but i've never gone there an not seen one there so they may still have a few.

I can't imagine it would be difficult to locate one.

  7. As people before me have said - "seek and ye shall find"

Did you know that Fender Japan have come out with some new aerodyne basses ?

If you don' fancy the P/J pick-up combination of the original aerodynes - i.e., the bass I think you are interested in - please do an internet search for "Fender" and "AJB-100" - only available in Japan at the moment - but if you ask around some of the Japanese based e-bay retailers - they could get you one for around $700/$750 - these aerodynes have a J/J (vintage DiMarzio) pick-up combination and some nice flame-topped finishes - see for example the topline middle bass of page 1 in

Hope you find what you are looking for !

  8. Wow! You guys are a wealth of information; glad I found the board. AMS has some in stock, think I'm going to order one right now. I'm still kind of torn between the Aerodyne & the Geddy Lee signature series....:meh:
