I’m selling my 2002 American Fender Deluxe Active Jazz 4 String in Cherry Burst. I added a Sadowsky 4 Knob On board Pre-Amp as well as Fralin Humcancelling Pick Ups and it really gave this instrument new life.

This bass has been my go to for many years, but i'm wanting to change things up. I am the original owner. I purchased it new around 2002-2003 from Alto Music in Middletown, NY. I've kept up with it as far as set ups and care and i've provided an invoice of the work on it that was done in 2019. It hasn't been played a ton since then as I've gravitated more to P basses.

The work done on the bass in 2019 was Shielding of cavity, fret level and re-crown, Preamp Installation, and set up (i've since been doing my own set ups and adjustments) were done by The Guitar Specialist in Goldens Bridge, NY (http://www.guitarspecialist.com). He does awesome work. Professional work, who works on instruments for many well known musicians (John Scofield, Paul Simon, Joe Beck, etc. http://www.guitarspecialist.com/notable.htm) and he has been taking care of the instrument for me for a while. I believe at one point he replaced the original nut with a bone nut, but other than that, I was having him set up the instrument for a while. Frets are in great shape. Little to no fretwear. Upgrades (Fralin pups and Sadowsky Pre) were $600 on their own. It's really a great playing bass. Punchy, Lightweight (around 8lbs), fast neck, and great tone.

There are some dings and signs of use on the instrument (Pictured). I is currently strung with Curt Mangan Nickel Strings (.45-.105 guage). I swaped out the original white pick guard for a Fender White Pearloid Pickguard. I also added Schaller Straplocks.

Original Pickups and Fender Electronics Knobs/Plate will be included as well.

If you don't mind a few dings and minor wear here and there, this is a great option. Great feel, color, lightweight American made instrument, and really sings with the upgrades.

I love this series but the necks are too thin for me.
