  1. Price:
Up for sale is a like new Fender American Deluxe Dimension Bass IV HH.

I bought this just to try it and stash it away, but like all good plans, thet don't stand a chance against GAS, or in my case, SAS. Three days after I bought this one, a dream Spector surfaced and I jumped on it. So it's time to raise cash for the credit card bill.

That said, I would actually really like to stick to my plan and keep this one, so I'm going to be selling a few things, and if this is still around when the others sell I'll likely keep it.

So here's the scoop. It's totally mint. Still has the plastic on all of the tuners, battery cover and pickguard. I played it for about two hours total. As with any bass I plan to keep, I immediately put on some new strings (GHS Bass Boomers - Flea Signature) and completely set it up with low action. I just don't like stock Fender stings, too much tension for my liking. It's now set-up beautifully!

This killer bass plays like, dare I say it, butter! The neck is so fast and every note sings.

The preamp is really cool. Very different from the preamps I've been using, in that it doesn't seem to go to extremes, just very precise within a nice useful, musical range - if that makes sense. The dual humbucking pickups are also great. The louder this goes the better it sounds. The five position switch is really cool and you can easily dial in a variety of great useful tones including a P Bass and Jazz. The videos Fender produced were a horrible representation of what this bass actually sounds like. They spend two years talking to their artists and came up with a very unique bass - it's not a MusicMan wannabe at all. Very versatile!

The fit and finish are amazing - Fender did good with this bass. I've heard they have only been making about 20 of the Deluxes per run and QC seems spot on for this one. I'd bet they have the A-Team building them when they do. This is part of the reason I wanted to stash this away.

The neck is hand oiled, compound radius like Select necks, and asymetrical C shaped, and it's something very special. It's a 1.625 nut but this plays a lot like a Jazz that mated with a P Bass... and a Lakland. That would be how I would describe the feel. And the rosewood board is gorgeous. I tool a pic when I changed the strings.

Fender thought of everything on this one, and the case is no exception. It's the best case I've ever seen. I thought the current P-Bass flight cases were nice, these are even better!

You'll get all of the unopened case candy including all tags and a nice black leather Fender strap with strap locks.

I'm asking $1,200 plus actual shipping. CONUS and PayPal only.

These are $1,700 new, so you're saving $500 and you're getting a new bass that is set-up and ready to rock!

  2. This case is awesome!

Quick flip locks and a comfy red cushy handle...

  3. To those of you who asked, thanks for the inquiries, but sorry no trades unless you have the right Spector. I forgot to mention that in my original post.

I also dropped the price by $100! :bassist:

Great TBer! Bought a Spector from Tony last year and seriously thought it was brand new.

He takes care of his basses and would definitely buy this from him if I had the funds.

    GLWTS Tony!!!

  7. Thanks for the nice comments, guys. I appreciate it.
  8. I'm learning this is a bass that begs to be played. It's my MO to close up a case one a bass is for sale and to ignore it. It's killing me to not play this one, so much more to explore with it!
  9. PMs replied. Some definite interest, but nothing solid yet.
  10. And just like that, the bass is sold. Off to Michigan it goes. Thanks again for all the nice comments and interest.
