Fender American Deluxe P5 Vs MM SR5

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by whamonkey, Jan 1, 2004.

  1. Has this been posted? I searched and my question wasn't really answered. I have a MIA Jazz 5 (which I love BTW....sloppy "b"??!! no way) and am looking for a second bass for diff tone. Seriously looking at a SR5, and belive the hype but have been pulled towards the MIA P Deluxe (w the 4+1 headstock and 18v pre) lately Anybody actually played both and would like to comment? How comparable are they tonewise? What about versatility? I hear the SR5 is great....at one thing. Can the Fender get the SR tone and then some? I'm playing through an Eden Metro and I don't use any gadgets, sometimes a Boss chorus but that's it. I like bass tone, warm and growly, with some punch...keep the swirly stuff, thanks very much. I plan on playing both but just though I'd feel it out.
  2. Anybody?
