Fender American Standard V

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by count_funkula, Feb 18, 2002.

  1. Who out there plays one of these? What are your thoughts?
  2. I have the American Deluxe V.....LOVE it!!

I'm about to replace the pups with Barts though.

But as for the playing...I love mine!!
  3. Are we talking P-Bass or J-bass? I play a Fender Deluxe J-bass, but I was going to just get the Standard, because I felt they play exactly the same, I just wanted one that was MIA.
  4. I'm sorry, I'm talking about the Jazz bass.

The ones I've played I didn't like the B very much. Kinda floppy. Just my opinion though. If you already like the J bass tone and just want five it might be the way to go.
  6. I agree the Low B is a little on the floppy side.....but it's still a good sounding bass
  7. true, I would have to agree with that, but once you get up into the E-string, its extremely punchy. But if you really play a lot of notes as low as a B, or C, then I wouldnt recommend it
