Once again I'm debating on a second bass. I've tried the Music Man Stingray, but schokingly it didn't please me. I' m very picky apparently, and the only sound I seem to like for my originals is Fender pups. I currently own a made in Mexico Fender Jazz and I love the Jazz bass sound, but two Jbass pups blur the sound too much. I'm looking at Fenders that have one Jazz and one Percision Bass pickup. These are my results:

I like it in Blue, Blizzard Pearl, or Black.

I love Duff; he's my idol, but something feels weird about playing his custom bass, like I need to be in a GNR cover band to use it...hmmmm...

In Blue or Crimson...that crimson has something about it that looks really cool....

Not really considering this one, the yellow trim makes it ugly, but it has the right pups

How bout this ass-kicker? Just found it now...anybody played one? OR even heard one? heard of one? seen one?

Any other opinoins at all are welcome. Thanks.

The aerodynes are great basses. However thats a creme trim, not yellow, and it looks quite nice in person.

I'm not sure what you mean though by "blurring" the sound with two J pickups. I think you need a setup if anything.

There's a near-mint used MIA Precision Bass Special on eBay right now, 2-tone burst/ano gold, one piece maple neck. I've got one and it sounds and plays great.

Go and try a 51 re-issue. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Buy the one that speaks to you when you pick it up and play it. :)
