hmm...any comments? Is there anything like this that's better? Or at a lower price?

I put a set of these on a fretless Alembic Spoiler I used to have and they were pretty cool-they had a rich sound with a subdued top end and punchy mids. They were brighter than the flatwounds I've tried and the large mass of the strings helped in the creation of big wooly tones. Plus they didn't mar the fingerboard and they lasted a long time. I switched back to roundwounds but I'd recommend them, especially for a fretless or hollowbody bass.

My only complaint is that the G string seemed to be pretty weak. I used them on my fretless Jazz for a while, but ended up going back to flatwounds. The tapewounds are very mellow, and give you a distinct sound.
