In a local music shop, they have some fender basses, it sais on the headstock that they're made in the USA, on the price tag though it only said £350 and something about 'Corona Series'
    whas this all about?

Hollow body basses made by Fender in the late 60s early 70s. Not very well regarded, but if it does something for you that's all that matters.
  3. Isn't that the Coronado?

All recent USA Fenders are made in Corona, CA.

its not something i'm interested in, i was just curious why all other USA fenders were about £1000 and the USA corona's were only £350.

Apparently the "Corona" series are "made" in Corona Ca.
They are then shipped across the border to Mexico where they are assembled, painted and finished.
Somewhat misleading if it says "made in us" on the headstock!
  7. The Hot Rod P Basses are made in Carona, I know that.

If it makes you feel better, pretend the basses are made in LA, as Southern California could just as well be called LA, and no one would know the difference.

<------Im about 15 from Carona via freeway, and 5 minutes from the original Fender plant via surface streets:D
