    why would he leave the nut uncut if it's not glued in anyway?

    Apparently, he hasn't played many basses in the $1000-2000 range.

    But hey, on this one, the nut just "slides right out." Now THERE's a feature I need.

    That guy ruined a perfectly good Squier.

    I'd play it. Stick a set of Q-Tuners in there and I think you'd get away with it.
