Fender Custom 60's pups

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by --Wang--, Feb 1, 2002.

  1. Question:

Are these pups individually hum-cancelling, like the DiMarzio DP149's?

Only when both are at full volume, in other words, no. They are single-coils.

I have a Squier P-Bass (sorry, it was my first bass ever!), but i was thinking about spicing it up a little. does anyone think i should change the pickups to the 62 p-bass pickups, or are they pretty identical? is it worth it? i never heard them, to tell the difference.

    General Rule on upgrading---

Think of how much you are going to spend on upgrading. Now think of what bass you could buy with that money. If you rather have the new bass, than upgrading the old one, don't upgrade the bass, sell it.

Is the squire worth upgrading? How does it sound unplugged?
  5. If you can get a good price on a Fender American P
pickup you may want to go with that. They sound great!Have no expearience with the 62 p mod. pup.
No shame in owning a Squire bass,.I`ve played a few lately at GC and they are nice little basses!:)
