I am the second owner. I gigged this bass a half-dozen times and, just as the original owner told me, it really comes close to an original pre-CBS bass - looks, feel, and sound-wise. Also as the original said, the relic work on this one looks the most natural and it won both of us over because of that reason. Some of the relic work on the pick guard wore of from resting a thumb on it. It shows in one of the photos. As the original owner did before, I am also posting the professional shots of this bass. She is a beauty. Comes with all the paperwork, case candy, original case and will ship in the original shipping carton. FYI - These go for well over $4k new. Sorry, NO TRADES. $3,100.00 Specs: Color: Aged Black Weight: 8.9 Body Wood: 2 Piece Select Alder Neck Wood: Tinted Quartersawn Maple Neck Shape: '60 Precision Bass Oval 'C' Neck Dimensions: .810 1st-.980 12th Fingerboard: Rosewood Fingerboard Radius: 9.5" Width at Nut: 1.75" Nut Material: Bone Pickups: Custom Shop Hand Wound Single Coil Precision Bass ** NOTE: I added BLUE FretFX LED's to the side of the fret board (at the dot positions). They look great (and are quite useful on dark stages), but can be easily removed with no damage caused, whatsoever (the LED array would be destroyed, though).
Ouch! Absolutely wonderful!!! I have a Jazz sherwood green '60 and it is an unbelievable bass.... I wish I had the $$$ for yours so they can be side by side!!!
Agreed! My old bass and she is a piece of relic art. Wish I could buy her back. Lol. Great Talkbasser here folks. A++++
By popular demand, some pics of the FretFX LED array. Go to www.fretfx.com to see how the array is installed / removed:
Ah that makes more sense now, it's just a strip! I thought you pulled the "clay" dots out and replaced them. Thought you were crazy lol.
No takers out there, eh? It's a weird world we're living in right now, so I suppose it goes with the territory! Sadly, my new bass is about to arrive, so this one will be going over to Reverb and eBay shortly. Thanks for all the likes, though!
