Selling my Fender Custom Shop 64 Jazz Bass manufactured in 2005, I believe. Candy Apple Red w/ tort pick guard and matching headstock. Rosewood board and all original pickups, hardware, etc. Extreme relic treatment. No actual damage beyond the original relic. Medium low action w/ nice barking rear pickup tone. Lightweight and well balanced. Great bass but I just have too many jazz-type instruments and am in need of a P. Includes orange plush Fender case and both pickup covers, but I do not have the original custom shop certificate. These list at over $4000 new. Asking $1900 shipped to lower 48. Other areas: $1850 plus shipping costs. Paypal e-check or cashier's check preferred. Please email for pics, questions, or if interested.

The only items I would consider for trade:
    Sadowsky P/J
    Lull P/J
    Lakland P/J
    Fender 62 Reissue P

On any of the above, I'm looking for a rosewood board. Either 4 or 5 string is fine.

Was mine for a while. Killer bass! Looks like it's 44 years old and plays like it's a new Custom Shop bass!

Thanks for the shout. She is killer. The only reason I'm letting this one out of the stable is because I have 5 other jazz-type instruments and I really need a P. It was a tough call but at least one needs to go.

What does it weigh? Did you sand the back of the neck or did it come like that?

The bass weighs 9.5 lbs by my bathroom scale.

The neck was sanded when I received it, although I do think it has had at least two other TB owners. I've had it just about a year. Thanks for all the interest.

Oh wow. Nice bass Scott. Nice to see you on talkbass. I guess it has been a while since we ran into each other at bass emporium.
I'd buy it if I didn't just buy a new CS '64 jazz relic

I'll PM you to catch up

It's a seriously sweet bass - light and resonant.

Would you be interested in an '62 Precision Reissue from 1983?

i was a previous owner as well. this bass has an unbelievably rich tone and was my favorite Jazz I've ever owned. If I could get use to the skinny necks on these it never would have left.

FWIW, i also had the frets leveled by DC Olson here in San Antonio so the action could get nice a low.

Good luck with the sale. Whoever buys this bass will be happy.
