Fender Custom Shop Relic '64 Jazz Bass for sale for $2000 plus shipping to addresses in the USA. This bass has an ash body (unusual for a '64 Relic Jazz), transparent blonde finish, upgraded Fralin pickups, and a good-looking Pickguardian pickguard. Serial number is R39698, so the bass was made in 2006 or '07. (The Certificate of Authenticity for this bass evidently was mixed up with the COA for another CS Relic Jazz Bass at the factory or dealer, and I've never bothered to exchange it for the proper one.) The bass weighs 8 pounds 12 ounces and plays with low, buzz-free action. The truss-rod nut is flush with the heel of the neck. The bass was set up recently with new nickel-plated steel roundwound strings by Mike Lull and has a cutting, aggressive tone due to the ash body and Fralin pickups. It has no play-wear on it beyond the relic treatment by the Custom Shop. (I did run a fine Scotchguard pad across the back of the neck a few times to dull the high gloss.) No trade offers, please.

For photos, see below. (Thanks, Craig!)

Thanks -- this is one of my best basses, but I've recently bought a real '63 Jazz, so something must go.

Would you possibly just sell the spare set of pickups by themselves?

I have a 2001 cs 64 relic. It is one of my top basses I have had even compared to the many boutique jazz basses I have owned (sadowsky etc)

Thanks smeltnet. Now I have to clean the drool off my lap top. That bass will make some body very happy. Good luck with the sale. Tedward
