Fender Deluxe Precision Bass Special - pick guard and age?

I am looking for a pearloid pickguard for my Sea Foam Green P Bass pictured below. Can I just buy a regular P bass pick guard and drill another hole? Also, this series was/is a special collaboration between fender and guitar center/musicians friend. Mine is dated 2012 as a manufacture year, and I’m wondering what year the series was first manufactured? The one I happened to buy is the oldest one I have seen.
