  1. I've got me an nice wee cort artisan, it does the job, its fairly solid, its damn easy to play yet it lacks that certain special something.

On the other hand theres a rather nice wee Fender Jazz Deluxe at the local music store which is rather nice, i like the playing and the sound i get running it through my GK amp, but would it be over cliched to get one? IS there something anyone can tell me from experiance about this lovely wee instrument?

    Welcome to TalkBass!!!! :)

Which Fender Dlx Jazz are you refering to? MIA (Made in America) or MIM (Made in Mexico)? If it's the MIA, is it the newer one w/the Noiseless pickup's or the older 5 pole pickups like the MIM's are still using? :)

Either way it's not "over cliched" to play any bass, I don't care how many poeple play them. If you like it, them buy it.

Personally, if it's the newer MIA w/the noiseless p/u's, I don't care for them. I don't think they sound as good as the older ones OR the MIM Dlx for that matter.

I used to own an MIM Fender Jazz Deluxe.

It sounded really good. The only reason I got rid of it was because it was wayyyy to heavy for me.

It was like 15 lbs. And after about 5 hours of practicing, it'd start to kill my shoulder.

And it's just horrible if you're sitting on top of your amp at band practice...
