Fender Dimension electronics ?

Interested in the Dimension line of basses with two pickups, and wondering if the pickups in the Elite, Deluxe, and American Standard all the same, with the active basses just having the preamp and 5 way switch?

I'd like a passive, but I like the Elite colors and 5 way switch. Wonder how much of a job it would be to convert to passive while retaining the 5 way switch.

Could put in Tony Franklin style 3-way switch, but that wouldn't make the most advantage of these pickups.
