This is a special bass that has the most amazing feel. The only cosmetic blemishes are a little rust on the bottom pickguard cover screw and some belt buckle rash on the back of the body. With a handful of modern construction techniques and appointments, the Fender Limited Edition American Vintage '58 Precision Bass may be the most vintage-correct P Bass out there. The entirety of the instrument is comprised of ash and maple that has been roasted to remove moisture and crystallize resins for a bass that rings like a perfectly aged vintage instrument. And the tonewoods were even treated to Fender's original-era machinery to craft a bass that will take you back in time. The Limited Edition American Vintage '58 Precision Bass is going to go fast. Since its introduction in the early 1980s, Fender's American Vintage series has been the go-to source for the last word in original-era model-year instruments. With today's American Vintage basses, Fender has gone back to the most fanatical level of vintage accuracy yet. They've restored original tooling dies, voiced new pickups, reformulated vintage colors, and more — basing everything on actual vintage basses. And with the new Limited Edition American Vintage '58 Precision Bass' being crafted with this original-era machinery, it sings just like the classic 4-stringers from yesteryear. For the American Vintage Limited Edition '58 P-bass, Fender tracked down several original '58s and exhaustively analyzed them to ensure a painstaking level of vintage accuracy. Every facet of the original instruments — including minute details such as curves, perimeters, radii and more — was examined, measured, evaluated, and ultimately incorporated into the American Vintage '58 Precision. What you see in this remarkable bass is more than the sum of its parts. It's a highly playable, eminently musical-sounding re-creation of an iconic instrument that changed low end forever. Fender's American Vintage Limited Edition '58 Precision Bass isn't only crafted with vintage-correct details; it actually resonates with the same ring of a perfectly aged vintage instrument. It starts with a roasted ash body that crystallizes the resins and removes the moisture from the wood. Fender then takes the process a step further by introducing the all-maple neck to the same process. This thermal treatment creates a wood that reacts much like that of a real 1958 P Bass. And a thin coat nitrocellulose lacquer protects and beautifies the instrument. The weight is 8.3 lbs and the nut width 1.73" The Bass comes with all the original case candy still in the package. Any other questions ask.
I would but I don't have the funds currently...I have a bad pedal addiction. I ended up getting the regular sunburst AVRI 58 Reissue (in my avatar) and it smokes every p bass I have played except for the real thing that I played at CME
This bass is crazy nice and light. It has a transparency and punch like no other. Fender hit it out of the park with this series. I’m not near playing this enough and I was gifted a ‘51 Precision build that I have been using.
I have one of these to and it’s great. To anyone on the fence, just buy it you certainly won’t regret it.
