Maybe this thread could earn a "sticky" at the top of the page and all Fender hate could be channeled here for ever...

 

I hate every Fender bass out there.... well just the ones I don't have yet.

 

How long do we think these 2 threads are going to last?

 

I hear Fenders are bad because everyone uses them and I don't want to be like everyone else and because reasons and furthermore.

I'm not a Fender fan, but I don't just complain about wishing they'd fix this or that. I simply order a bass or guitar to my desired specs. Problem solved.

 

I just want to point out that I absolutely LOVE Fenders, but I don't think they are better than ANY other brand. Confused? It's simple. Most modern basses are pretty decent instruments. Some are very expensive, and play very nicely. Others are fairly inexpensive, and play somewhat less nicely than the ones that play very nicely, but they still seem to play nicely enough for me.

I guess I'm just not that picky. Anyway, I have some Fenders, and I like them. Actually I HAD some; we had a little fire.

 

Hmm, I thought it was against the rules or stickys or something to post I hate threads. Guess not. Just goes to show ya what I know.

haha... I love it... TB hasn't changed much in the long break I took... Back then people really also hated Fender... ESPECIALLY the American made ones.. the classic "Haters".. so much so that I formed the original club on Talkbass the Fender MIA club.. (now you've got a club for single pickup, pre-xyz, nitro finish pick your brand" and then some!

Music like musical instruments is a subjective topic.. I love some classical music, but only when certain orchestra's and conductors perform it.. I can almost hate the same piece from a different orchestra. Same for taste.. I love certain types of rock and hate others.. Someone else might totally disagree with me, that's what makes the world a wonderful place.

For me, so much of the great music I grew up listening to and loving was recorded with a Fender bass, and that is the sound and feel I look for when I hobby as a bassist.. I don't make a living as one, so I don't need to worry about the latest and greatest fads in music.

 

The only thing I hate about Fenders is my sometimes poor attempts at playing them.

 

I lost all my Fenders in a tragic canoeing accident.

 

I personally think Leo nailed it first time around.

 

I don't hate fender for the designs, leo set the bar, I don't like the fact they are way overpriced for what they are. And the fender vintage market is even worse.
