anyone ever do this (or something similar)?
i know jack casady used to play a jazz with a split coil p pickup at the neck and it sounded phenominal. I wonder how it would sound with the mudbucker:)

Usually comes and goes on the 'Bay.

  3. I think it would be fun to put some Humbuckers on a jazz bass

I once Sheehan-ized a neck through Charvel bass that came with a PJ pickup arrangement. I added a DiMarzio Will Power neck pickup with its own volume control and output.

If I can find a photo of it, I'll post it.

OK, definitely pretty cool. My thoughts a little while back were to merge the 52/54 with the 72. single coil non split P pickup ala 52, with a mudbucker humbucker at the neck. Thought itd be neat.

Yours too. Though purists would likely vomit. Thats what they made Squiers for though!

    That's not a Darkstar, it's a Hagstrom Bi-sonic.
(But then, you already knew that.)

oh i was waiting for that haha. and yes i was aware. i'm just saying if i were to do that today i'd have to get a darkstar. the bisonics are crazy rare and pretty expensive. i've only seen an original up for grabs once and that was on ebay like 2 weeks ago. other than that, no way jose;)

I think there is another semi-famous 70's player that put a mudbucker in his Jazz.
I do see Jazz p'up in 70's Telecasters about once a month.
