I just bought this bass two weeks ago after wanting to try one for about 6 months. Well it is a great bass, but it’s not my thing. I feel like I got a good deal on the bass and am asking the same price.
    $1000 Firm
You will have to cover shipping.
Or we can say $1050 shipped.
The bass has been played, and has a few nicks and scratches, but nothing bad. I too pics of most everything I found. The action is super low and the bass plays great. It ships in an old tweed style fender hard case. I don’t think it’s the original case, and it’s pretty beat up, but it is functional. The bass weighs 8.85lb and I am not sure of the age.

Yeah, I think that I got a pretty good deal at $1000, so I am reselling it at the same price.

I was asked about the weight and yes 8.85 Lb is correct. It was weighed on a UPS shipping scale.

that's a beautiful bass!...is the action really set that low? it looks like the strings are literally laying on the neck...

Yes it's got super low action. The strings are not laying on the board, the camera is sitting on the strings in that shot, so its pressing them down a bit. It as low as it can get without buzzing out. It is very easy to play with the way its set up. If you play near the bridge you get that bubbly Jaco sound, up buy/over the neck its all mwah.

Where are they made? .... And I noticed it doesn't have the copper grounding strip on this model and by the chip it looks like it has a poly finish, is that right?

American made. As for the finish, I am not sure. I think that its nitro. As for the copper grounding strip, thats on the Jaco tribute bass, the custom shop one, and they go for $4000 or so. Maybe someone more Fender savvy can weigh in?

    It's this bass here: http://www.fender.com/products/jaco-pastorius-jazz-bass

Where are you located? That would give us a better idea of shipping costs.

Since the grounding is now done through the cavity, the copper strip is just for "show". Mine came with the copper strip with the case candy. Finish is nitro. Sweet bass but it was not practical for me so i sold it. GLWTS

^Thanks for the info. I am with you, its a great bass, but just not what I am needing right now and I have too many basses. I am actually going to totally stay away from fretless for a while.

Would love to, esp. since I'm going to stay away from fretted for a while, but just don't have the cash on hand.

I would love to take it off your hands but I recently bought a Squier 'Jaco Jr' because I can't afford the 'real thing'. Bump for a beautiful bass.

I thought these all had a polyester or epoxied finished fretboard. Is there a major difference with the non-finished board?
