Fender Jaguar colour/finish question

    I recently ordered a Fender Jaguar with the black finish from my local Long and Mcquade store for $850.00 ($750.00 US or so). I wanted to order it in the 3 tone Sunburst finish but they wanted 50 dollars more.

    My question is did any Jag owners who have the 3 tone Sunburst finish had to pay extra for it? I'm wondering if Fender has told it's dealers to charge more for the Sunburst and Olympic White finishes.

    Most sunburst Fenders (including guitars) cost a few extra bucks.

    Well they're rarer. AFAIK they were not available outside of Japan for a while.
    Only Red and black were available.

    I just bought a 3 tone sunburst Jag for $750 off the net. Could of got a cheaper one in black at a local store but I wanted the 3 tone burst. And Im happy i did!

    I ordered my sunburst jag from japan and it was the same price as the others (this was when sunburst and white were japan-only colors)

    In the UK, i have never known anyone to pay/charge more for a sunburst finish, i think it's daft they do that.
