I bought this right before my last tour, and decided I needed something else when I got back. We all know how this goes, last in...first out. Fender CIJ ’62 RI Jazz Bass. In Gun Metal Blue and was imported from Japan new in 2002. From the original seller... It has several nice, but discrete, upgrades ($200 worth): -DiMarzio J pickups -500k Pots – V/V/T -Hipshot Vintage Tuners -Gotoh high mass bridge -Fully Copper shielded - PUPS, Control Cavity etc -Strung with flatwounds This bass has hardly been used and never gigged. You will be hard pressed to distinguish this from new – the body is unmarked and perfect. The only tiny flaw I could find was a small blemish in the lacquer on the side of the fretboard around the 5th fret dot marker, and I was hardly able to photograph it. This doesn’t affect playability, and could easily be made like new with a spot of epoxy. This bass has a beautiful neck, slim and fast, and it came out of the Japanese factory during the height of their quality building. Some say these are as good if not better than the USA Jazz Basses of the time. Weighs in around 9.3 lbs on my bathroom scale. $615 shipped. Paypal preferred. Thanks for looking!
