    Hello TBers!

I am hoping someone can help me with the neck pocket specs for a Fender Jazz 24 4-string. Are they the same as other J-basses?

The Jazz 24 has a 6-bolt plate for the 24 fret neck. Will there be any issues if you tried to swap in a new 20, 21, or 22 fret neck?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Gordon,

Glad to here you figured it out.

One point to remember, I'm pretty sure your intonation will be off using a neck with a different number of frets.

You may need to relocate the bridge to compensate.

    Best of luck,

    Bob

    Hey Bob,

    Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, after doing some research I learned that this was not the best bass to be doing any serious mods with. From what I've seen both the bridge and p-ups would need relocated. The fact that the J24 is a 6 bolt neck with a longer neck pocket would be the least of my problems.

Looks like I will be spec-ing something from Warmoth and building my own!
