    What's this headstock

Was poking around my area to see what people got for sale and came across this sweet little bass, but i didn't recognize the headstock, it appears to be fender, but it's not. Maybe something custom?

Yeah, totally custom. Most likely whoever made the neck wanted it to be as close to a Fender neck as possible, but I've never seen one quite like that. And I certainly don't remember seeing a maple board with black binding AND black dot inlays. Sweet looking bass, though. You gonna check it out?

  3. Those are replacement necks that are on e-bay from time to time. I remember them because of the "pistol grip" notches on the bottom of the peghead. Looks like a cool bass though.

    I second this.
I watch ebay and have seen necks like that for sale as "canadian maple". However, I have also seen no name basses from China in these bright vintage colors and headstock shape for sale, if memory serves me. I would question if this is MIJ, because why would you put a generic neck on an MIJ? Also, something about the body shape or pickguard just looks "off" to me. Being CL it could be checked out in person maybe?
