Fender jazz and precision neck question.

    I'm building a p-bass and have it already routed out to fit a precision neck. But I have decided I want a jazz neck on it. Does anyone know if the heel and bolt patterns are the same?

    I've swapped p and j necks with no problem...

    P and J heel dimensions are the same.

    There are two ways to guarantee a perfect hole pattern match;

    1) A virgin neck.

    2) Plug and re-drill a donor neck.

    If the hole pattern is really close, I just enlarge the screw holes in the body a little.
