Fender Jazz Bass

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by lefthandbass17, Dec 11, 2003.

  1. I have a 4 string Fender Jazz bass and play slap and finger tap styles and was wondering what kind of strings would enhance the sound. I want something that will make the sound clearer. Just trying to get the mexi to sound better.

I use DR Hi Beams and they sound awesome on my American Std. 5... can't go wrong there my man. Try a bunch of different brands and see what you like best, but I use the DR's on all my basses and they sound great on everything.

  3. Rotosounds are similar to DR's, I've got a pair on right now. I think for clear sound you can't go wrong with stainless steel strings, like Rotosounds, Dr Hi-Beams or Lo-Riders, etc. I sure love em.

  4. I can only say DR-FAT BEAM (design by Marcus Miller himself)
They got the sound I want: Fat and Funky

  5. I use the Thomastik- Power Bass Series for more modern sounds on my Jazz basses.
