I've got a question about my MIJ '75 Reissue Jazz Bass. regarding the saddle height screws, how low is too low? i'm assuming you don't really want the saddles so low that it touches the bottom plate but is it also bad to have the intonation screws sloping downward at an angle? should you strive to keep the intonation screws (sorry if that's not the correct term) parallel to the body?

    thanks,

    steve

  2. you want the saddles low enough to make playing comfortable, meaning the strings aren't 3 cm off the board, and high enough that you don't get fret rattle when you're playing normally.

if they need to be as low as they go to get that, then that's ok.
