I am set on getting a new american std. jazz, but the silver (blizzard) pearl wasn't in the shop I went to. They said I could order one but it would take around 8 weeks. On the way out I notice an older american series jazz in shoreline gold that really caught my eye. Now Im stuck between two old fashioned colours, silver or gold? I feel like Im in a jewellery store. At first I liked silver, but after reading how bad silver fades to an olive green, am swining towards the gold. Any opinions, If you had to choose between a silver and gold bass. ?
do all silvers fade to green or just the inca silver ones? blizzard pearl isn't the same color/shade as inca silver, so maybe it won't fade? as far as your question goes: I don't like either color... so can't help you there...
Did you play the gold one? The 2008 MIA standard are really nice so if the gold one isn“t "the one" i would go for the silver. IMHO! Best of luck!
I didn't think American Standard Jazz basses came in Shoreline Gold. Here are the color choices shown on the Fender website: Candy Cola Maple 3-Color Sunburst Rosewood Olympic White Rosewood Black Rosewood Candy Cola Rosewood Blizzard Pearl Rosewood Charcoal Frost Metallic Rosewood 3-Color Sunburst Maple Olympic White Maple Black Maple Blizzard Pearl Maple Charcoal Frost Metallic Maple I have a Shoreline Gold P Bass. They had it in the American Series for only a year or two. Fender is always switching up the colors. I was looking for a silver P Bass in 2006 and found that Fender had discontinued silver P basses and replaced them with gold P basses -- so I went gold.
CANDY COLA MAPLE Haha sorry. I Have to stop doing that in every "what color new american std should i get". But get it.
I have a brand new 3-color sunburst with maple board on it's way from MF. I love that color combo. Shorline Gold is still pretty decent looking.
(couldn't resist) I'd wait an find a new American Standard to try out before you bought the old model. Then make your decision.
