fender jazz

    anyone think its weird that the american delux fender jazz basses are made in mexico.......well im thinking of buying one and the serial number starts with 182, like the dudes from blink 182 use fender stuff. anyway....

    Hey, the American Dlx Jazz Basses are made in USA, the Standard Dlx Jazz Basses are made in Mexico....

    I think the diference in price betwen the American series and the Mexican series is due to better woods, better electronics (active), better construction and finish on the made in USA....

    I think the electronics are the same on both MIM and MIA basses. Either active or passive, both are available from both manufacturering locations.

    American basses have better hardware also, including nice bridges with through body stringing as an option and better tuners (at least on the 4s). The finish quality on the MIM basses is amazing.

    Other than the nicer hardware on the MIA model I couldnt justify the higher price,so I bought the MIM Deluxe.A great value for the price,imo.With the addition of a Badass 2 and a set of Slowounds,imo Ive got a Bass that looks/feels/plays as well as a Bass costing twice the price.
