You know the one! This one has been through the ringer a little... but it's a good playing bass (I just pulled it out from its case and now it needs a setup after sitting since the summer). Black w/black pickguard. Neck has finish removed from back, and a tung oil finish applied. (nice and smooth) Some natural relicing done over the years. Bass features a small (reduced size) P body, Jazz-like neck, small headstock. Volume, blend (not working), bass, and treble boost/cut. Headstock was sanded down and painted flat black (why???). Serial # is on back of headstock. (Made In Mexico, MN4... = 1994) Active electronics work, but I think the pickup blend knob isn't functioning (can't hear the difference when I turn it - not sure which pickup is working or both just on). Oh, and put on cheesy "bird inlay" stickers on the fretboard - but they will easily peel off. I'm thinking $250 w/cheap hardshell case (1 broken latch, wavy plastic probably overheated at some point - but is a "Fender USA" case). Will post pics later if people are interested. Overall condition, conservative at 6-6.5/10. It's a beater and not for the faint of heart.
Looking more for cash at this moment but you can always throw something out there and see if it's something I'm interested in.
In case people missed the link to the pics, it's right under the post with the pic. Here's a few more just in case: (not sure I still have this case, but if not I will include another case in its place)
these basses are a great platform for mod's. As your electronic's might be dodgy - a stacked knob setup like that in the 62 RI J is cool. I did that on my last ine and actually liked it more than with the pre!
