I'm going to be in the market for a new jazz bass in the <$700 range. These are the 2 models I'm looking at. Has anyone had experience with both and can compare/contrast them for me? I'd love to hear about any experience you've had with either one if you've only played one. The Fender is the updated one with the noiseless pickups. Thanks for any input. :bassist:

I used to play a MIM Jazz just like the one you're describing almost every weekend at my local music store. Personally, I loved the sound, and now that I have my own MIA Jazz with active electronics I am confident in saying that despite a few differences (mostly sustain due to graphite truss rod & string-thru-body construction), the sound is very similar. I think it is a very good value for the money.

P.S. - Killer icon, I love the Grateful Dead!
