Fender Neck Question

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Slaine01, Nov 2, 2005.

  1. Has anybody ever swapped a Fender Active Jazz 5 string neck with a Fender Deluxe etc.
I don't like the 5 across tuners on the Active 5 and want to swap it with a 4+1 as found on the Deluxe 5 series.
    Are they compatable?
  2. Anybody?

The Active Jazz has 20 frets and the Jazz Deluxe has 22 frets, right? If so, I'd say they are not compatible....
  4. I would think that even with the extended length, it would all depend on the cut-out of the body and bolt placement. As far as the extra length, you'd have to make sure you get the right strings and adjust the bridge tuning...IMHO...I'm not a luthier, or anything. Just speculating.

Also, I'm not saying this is the wrong section to put this in, it's very bass related; just thinking that maybe if you posted under "Setup and Repair", the guys that look there might be more knowledgeable if they are viewing there and you might get some more responses. Check it out.
