Fender OEM Jazz vs Area J with soundclips

    2011 Fender Jazz MIA.

    The clips were both equalized for volume and both sets of pickups are the same distance from the strings.

    I thought you would have gotten a bunch of comments about this. I can definitely hear quite a difference. The Area J's sound a bit better to my ears. Just a little bit more "Air" for lack of a better word.

    Nice. So a CS60's set vs the Area J's. I bet if you roll off of the neck pickup or lower it a little the Area J will sound more similar. There is a lot of neck pickup hollowness in the sample of the Area J's. At the moment the growl of the Area J's is more polite.

    Not CS 60's. The previous Jazz OEM pickups.

    Thanks for the samples. The Fender OEM sound a tad better to my ears, more clarity.
