Greetings. So I just a '62 reissue P bass pickup to put in my lovely Memphis copy, but I see there are four wires total. I can figure out the lead (white), but on the other main wire i have two black wires and one red. I know it is a coil split, but if i am not splitting, do i leave the red and one black unattached, or do i connect them together? Thanks!!!

white is lead, black is ground, and the other two you wire together. the two you wire together makes it so both of the pups work as one. the fact that you've got 2 blacks is perplexing. if they have forums on the fender web site id suggest going there.
