fender p-bass question

  1. i'm thinking about purchasing a fender p-bass, but i have relized that there are two kinds. the less expensive standard one, and the more expensive american one. whats the difference? :confused:

    A little of everything. American basses benefit from higher quality control in both the parts and the whole bass. Whether or not this is worth the price difference is up to you.

    it gets worse, there are several versions of the p bass 1 mexican, 2 american (i belive) and then the signature models and what have you
    not to mention the p bass clones, some of which are probably better than fenders
    find one ya like ;)

    I have both newer MIA and MIJ P-Basses. They're both equal in quality IMO. If an MIA is out of your budget, I recommend the MIJ-series.
