I saw a P Bass special California series today for sale and was wondering what a good price for one of these is. The bass was in good condition. It looked original with black body and gold aluminum pick guard. It didn't appear to have been played much.

Here is a picture of the headstock.

  2. I would say $350-400. Keep in mind that these necks are 7.25" fretboard radius, which is pretty rare. A more "vinatge" radius usually reserved for the AV/RI series basses. A MIM (although Califonia are made mostly in the US and say "USA" on the headstock, with a MIM serial number) neck with this radius is pretty rare, and may or may not be in demand depending on how much the neck radius matters to the seller and buyer.
