The least expensive thing I can think of is getting a new fretboard on the existing neck. Getting a brand new neck with an extended fingerboard doesn't seem very economical.

Maybe pick up a Warmoth 22 fret 'Fender' neck?

I agree. A neck from the Warmoth "Showcase" (Previously "Thrift Shop") is probably the way to go.

Edit: I only partially agree. IIRC, Warmoth only makes 20, 21, and 24 fret necks (for 4-string basses). I believe the 20 and 24 fret necks are "special order only".
  5. Why do you want a 22 fret neck?

    isn't High Fb high enough?
  6. What? :meh:

Moses Graphite sells a 22 fret neck that will bolt into your existing neck pocket. the fretboard extends over the body a little bit.
