2001 Fender Precision Special. P body with Jazz width neck. It kills me to sell the greatest MIM bass ever made, but I have to have a fiver for my new band. Simply put this bass kills! No dead spots, no neck pocket gap, no high frets, no issues at all. I've owned 4 P Specials over the last 3 years (I love the PJ tone, just no other way to get it) and this was the only one I've kept. IMO better construction than the last MIA Jazz I had. Upgraded the pickguard to a genuine Fender shell, upgraded the pickups to Seymour Duncan active Lightinin' Rods. These are my favorite PJ pickups, somewhere between vintage and modern with a perfect volume balance between P and J. Comes with Fender Deluxe gigbag. Price is $450 shipped. Paypal ok. No trades. {} {}
It was passive, now active V-V-T. The SD Lightinin' Rods have an internal preamp like EMGs. Also dead quite like EMGs.
Are there any noticeable dings or scratches on it? The pictures look great, but is is really in that nice a shape?
Condition is 8/10. A few very minor surface scratches here and there, mostly on the back. Nothing thru the finish. No chips or gouges. One small ding on the neck, doesn't affect playability. I'll post closeup pics later today.
Somebody buy this already! It keeps bumping back up and the GAS is KILLIN' ME!!! I can't justify another P Special!! The baby's gotta eat!
Oh man, this is exactly the color scheme and concept I have (J-neck, active electronics) for my idea of defretting a P-bass Special and making a "Tony Franklin Tribute" for about 1/4 the price. But alas... time, tide, and a special ordered Spector wait for no man, A bump for a beauty of a bass and a killer deal.
