I'm trying to raise the pickup on my '82 Pbass Special but the foam underneath the pickup has no more spring to it anymore. Should I replace the foam that's actually attached to the bottom of the pickup or should I look into installing a short spring to help raise the pickup? I'm sure there's people on this forum that have had this issue before!

I just did this on my Fender P/J. Same problem with both pickups. I used springs from cheap retractable ballpoint pens. Just the right diameter, and you can trim them to length really easily. Works like a charm.

There was another thread on this not too long ago, though I'm not sure if it was P-bass-specific. Other people had other suggestions, too.
