    Hi guys!
I've been reading your forum for a long time but this is my very first thread on the site

I'm posting here to get some advice about an exchange a friend of mine offered, which consist of me giving away my fender precision + 250$ to get a brand new ESP LTD F5E natural satin 5-strings.

Do you think it's a good deal? I have a jazz bass for most styles I usually play, but I'd like to play a 5 strings in most of my bands, playing funk, rock and a tiny little bit of prog metal. I'd love to get some feedback from those who played this styles with this bass and tell me if it's suitable for what I'm aiming at. :)

P.s. I apologize for any grammar error i did, english is not my first language...

    Thanks for the reply!

Well I actually bought mine second-hand in excellent conditions for 400€ (I guess it's slightly less than 500$) and this guy told me he paid the ltd 600€ which seems way more than the article you showed me. Since I never saw any LTD in any music shop here around I thought it was being honest.

My bass is in good condition except I dropped it once and there's a little edge near the bolts at the end of the neck where the coat of paint got broken, so I don't think I can sell it for more than the price I paid it.

In conclusion, do you think it's too expensive buying the LTD for around 600€ (750$)? Because I'm going to sell my p bass anyway so I am searching for a 5-strings and if I manage to sell it and get enough money I might buy this ltd.

Thanks so much for the helping!

    valemaxema,

If you're happy with the deal, I say go ahead. I'm not certain if those US prices are representative of what the basses cost in your country.

I will also tell you that in the US, Ltd basses are notorious for losing value. Used Ltd basses lose close to 1/2 of their value, which makes them crazy good deals used.

You can look at used prices here at Guitar Center to get an idea: http://used.guitarcenter.com/usedgear/index.cfm just search the bass category and search for Ltd.

Looks like they are selling an F-5E in 4 star condition for $399. Item # 110537342.

    Good luck,

    Bob
