Just got a brand-new Fender PV and I'm comparing to my 07 P4... I use the fender tapper wound strings on my P4 and I like the a lot. The new PV came with something else, not tapper wound and I think they sound a little different. (?)....

I also raised the pick up under the B string, sounds better to me. Anyone with a PV do any adjustments with pups or string height?

This maybe stupid but my P4 is a creamy white, looks like it's got a touch of yellow in it. The new one is supposed to be the same color but it looks White and more so when they are side by side. Will it age and get more creamy?

The bass plays nice and sounds about the same on the EADG. The B isn't boomy, it's more mellow than my 5501 but they are different animals.

It needs a tapered B string.
    My favorite is Sadowsky

    Here's the color issue.

I love the sound of the tapper wounds on the P4, why the hell aren't they stock on the PV?

hdracer, you notice the difference as we'll?

Your P5 looks like the modern Oly white. The four looks like a vintage white like a AVRI

Fenders we sight says 8250tw are the stock strings. How'd none tappers end up on there? Hmmm?

My 4 says Olympic white in the paper work, that's why I was wondering if it'll age?
