I'm about to begin working on a new project that will be fiesta red. I'm not doing a roadworn relic bass or anything but I've notice that the white primer doesn't show on the Fender roadworn bodies. Is this because they don't use a primer coat? As of now my body is ready for primer (sanded smooth) and I was wondering if I could skip the primer step and just start with the color coats? thanks

They probably use a clear sealer.

Ok, I forgot to mention that I sealed it with shellac and sanded in level. That should be enough right?
